Picking a Squarespace Template

Ok, how to pick a Squarespace template?

Look, I’ma give you the short answer up front… it doesn’t matter.

And I’ma say it again for those in the back…

IT DOES NOT MATTER

which Squarespace template you pick. Ok?

Now, for those wanting a bit more out of this article, here’s the long answer.

Squarespace is great at creating templates designed for different industries and categories of business but I’m going to let you in on a little secret.

All of their templates built on 7.1 and Fluid Engine

CAN DO THE SAME THING!!

So ultimately, it doesn’t actually matter which template you pick, because whatever features or functionality you’re looking for are already included.

This can do all the same things as that ↗

And this can do all the same things as that one ↖

So why does Squarespace bother building templates at all?

Well… because they’re known for their great design and visual appeal, so of course they need to show that off.

Plus, picking a template with some pre-set features and functionality you know you’ll use WILL save you time when setting up your website.

It’s just that I see so many people getting locked into a box with these categories and feeling like that’s all they can choose from.

It’s not! Pick whatever you want!

Now, I can already hear you saying “Ranita - you’re saying I should just go and pick whatever template comes up first on their website?”

I mean… you COULD… but I don’t actually recommend doing that.

YES - feel free to browse the Squarespace template library.

Scroll away to your heart’s content! Just don’t limit yourself to any of the categories and types they list up at the top. Uncheck all those bad boys and then pick a template based on its style.

Find something you vibe with, whose fonts and design match how you want to portray your brand.

You can even choose the template based on colors if you want.

(Although those are SOOOO easy to change I would stick to going with one whose fonts and design you like - but hey - you do you!)
